Marie-Claude Asselin is a Multidisciplinary Intuitive Artist based in Ottawa, Canada. You may know her by her pseudonym: merryclaude, her full name: Marie-Claude Asselin, or her artist signature: MCA.

Expect the unexpected with Marie-Claude; she is a constant experimenter and learner, guided by her intuition. She likes to start abstract portraits with scribbling to discover the face she will create. She does Abstract Portraits, Expressionism, Whimsical, Writing, Origami and much more. She works with both traditional and digital media. What better way to complete her works than with a touch of asemic writing?

Her background is as unique as her art. She holds graduate degrees in Pastry and Business Administration, Small Business Management, and Entrepreneurship. She worked for several years as a graphic designer for two origami design books: Drawing Origami, Volume 1 and Volume 2 and as a freelancer. This diverse experience, combined with her digital art skills—including her mastery of new software for creating captivating, textured digital paintings—and traditional techniques like the ancient art of origami (practiced since childhood), gives her a truly versatile approach. She is currently deeply engaged in a long-term writing project, a book she is writing following her inspirations.
